Motorhome and Caravan Show 2013 – Caravan Insurance

Further to my recent blog on the Motorhome and Caravan Show, I can report that I actually went there on the Saturday 19^th October for a little nose around. Obviously if I had done my homework properly I would have gone on the opening day to see if I could have got a hot date with Melanie Sykes who declared the show open! However on the Saturday I was with some of our caravan insurance partners who were interested in what it is exactly they insure and bringing themselves up to speed on all the latest models.

Now I’ve got to be honest, caravans aren’t really my thing, although after a fabulous long weekend away in a disgustingly big Winnebago a good few years ago with some friends to Newquay, I must say I found some of the larger motor homes quite interesting, especially one in which a bottle of red and a couple of glasses had been left enticingly on a table. Fortunately I managed to refrain from cracking the bottle open and making myself at home!

Nevertheless there are clearly a lot of people who love their caravans as was noticeable by the sheer volume of punters, over 100,000 over the course of the whole event, a record apparently, with over 25,000 on the day I was there. Coming from Birmingham International Station to the NEC was easy enough but the walk to the actual show seemed to go on forever. I had forgotten just how big the NEC is, but the fact that the show occupied 11 halls says it all.

The Camping and Caravan Show will be at the NEC from 14^th to the 19^th of February next year but until then I can let you into a little bit of privileged information.
