Motor traders spend a large part of their time checking on the market, keeping their vehicles in good repair, arranging their motor trade insurance policies, and dealing with customers, which means that recognition for all this work can often go a long way in boosting morale. One company in the North-East of England has recently recognised two of their managers in an awards ceremony, both of which have provided excellent service and achievements throughout the past year.

Vertu Motors Plc, which is based in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, is the seventh largest motor retailer in the whole of the UK and includes various brands such as Bristol Street Motors. In a ceremony held at the Jesmond Dean House Hotel in Newcastle, the CEOs praised various managers for their hard work throughout the past year.

One of the winners was Steve Robinson who is a service manager at Bristol Street Motors Vauxhall dealership in Newcastle, and was named Best Service Manager due to the fact that his department provided a high quality of service and Customer Satisfaction Index. After receiving his award, Mr Robinson said: “It’s been fantastic to be officially recognised for the work I do, it’s made my year. I work with a great team of people who work exceptionally hard to keep Bristol Street Motors Vauxhall dealership in Newcastle the best outlet for customer service, so customers keep coming back.”

Another winner was Simon Ward, who was presented with an outstanding achievement award for developing and delivering the company’s Service Plan and showroom systems. He said: “I am proud to be given this award. I feel I am just doing my job, so to be recognised for my efforts is really great. It was a fantastic night and everyone had a really good time celebrating.”

Discussing the award, chief executive of Vertu Motors Robert Forrester said: “As a business employing over 3,000 colleagues we pride ourselves on recognising and congratulating outstanding work delivered within the group. It’s extremely important to reward those colleagues who have delivered exceptional service and made a positive impact on the business. The CEO awards allow us to recognise our talented managers within the business and reward them for their dedicated work. I always look forward to telling the winners they will be receiving an award, as often it’s quite unexpected.”
