Kate Middleton’s Mum Gives Bouncy Castles the Royal Seal of Approval

Little girl jumping and bouncingRecently, Carole Middleton – mother of the Duchess of Wales Kate Middleton – has made a foray into the world of writing and publishing. Did you know that Kate Middleton’s parents run a party supplies business? The pair own an extremely successful business that revolves around party planning and mainly children’s parties, and Carole is now sharing her hosting tips through columns for Little London and Baby London magazine.

In one of her first columns, Kate’s Mum, who recently became a grandmother once again following the birth of Princess Charlotte, gives tips on throwing a successful children’s party. So what are the royal secrets to a party worthy of Her Royal Highness? Carole Middleton reveals all!

Firstly, Carole advises parents to take the party outdoors when possible. Outdoor action is great for burning off energy and releasing excitement, and most kids love playing in the garden. Carole’s suggestions include classic sports day games to get the party in full swing – egg and spoon and wheelbarrow race, anybody?!

Another idea for making sure all the action stays outside is to hire a bouncy castle. Carole says “there are few bigger draws than bouncy castles” for children, so if you have a space big enough it’s worth investing in one. She does however say that kid’s parties needn’t be extravagant, and a little creativity can make for a successful party. Nevertheless, for parents who want to go the whole nine yards, the party expert says bouncy castles rarely disappoint.

When it comes to party games, Carole suggests sticking to the quintessentially British variety: What’s the time Mr Wolf? and traditional apple bombing can be fun pastimes for youngsters, and hardly need any planning or resources at all.

Now that bouncy castles have the royal seal of approval, children’s parties up and down the UK are set to be sporting all different kinds of inflatable playgrounds. Whether it’s a child’s birthday, religious milestone or a summer fair, we expect to see demand for bouncy castles soar. Party supplies companies and bouncy castle rental businesses should be prepared for the busy summer ahead, which includes reviewing all safety measures and procedures and making sure specialist bouncy castle insurance policies are up to date.
