Bouncy Castle Bound for Southbank

The shores of Southbank may be lined with iconic London sights but last month it was a pair of giant inflatable bouncy castles that stole the show. Launched by Australian ‘liquid breakfast’ brand Up & Go, Londoners were given a once in a lifetime chance to bounce their way across the Sydney Harbour Bridge and through the Opera House.

The bouncy castles were the largest ever inflatable replica landmarks in existence and created a huge amount of publicity for both Up & Go and the City of London. They even managed to drum up a little press coverage from Down Under!

Rosie Foster-Carter, Up & Go Marketing Director maintains that the event embodies the essence of Up & Go, explaining that “the spirit is all about seizing the morning and living life to the full.”

Down Under Fun Hits Southbank

The event ran from April 22 to April 26 and had locals and tourists alike making a beeline for the excitement of Southbank. The high profile event was part of the brand’s super-sized celebrations to mark the launch of Up & Go in the UK. But before hitting up the giant inflatables Londoners had to take on a few other Down Under inspired challenges. The 25 metre long, eight metre high blow up assault course was packed full of adventures that even Crocodile Dundee himself would be impressed with. From kangaroo jumping over ‘Great Barrier Reef’ hurdles, climbing through the vertical manholes of ‘The Cheese Grater’ and traversing through a ‘Tropical Eucalypt’ rainforest of upright punching bags, admission to the inflatables wasn’t made easy! Thankfully, event organisers cooled contenders down with complimentary boxes of Up & Go.

“We’ve wanted to launch the brand in the UK with something fun that celebrated our Australian roots so what better way than with a giant Sydney Harbour bouncing bridge!? We’ve got a real competitive streak and can’t wait to have a go, come and challenge us!” adds Foster-Carter.

While Aussies may have a reputation for being laid back we can guarantee that when it came to insuring the event, policies were watertight. This is especially important for bouncy hire castle businesses which deal directly with members of the public. No matter how big or small the inflatable business, bouncy castle insurance is critical!
