The Five most Expensive cars to Insure

Car insurance premiums have been increasing recently due to the fact that the EU has passed a new law stating that car insurance providers can no longer provide cheaper quotes due to someone’s gender, and also due to changes in the way compensation is paid to those involved in car accidents. However, the good news for motor traders is that no matter how much the car insurance will cost some people will always buy their dream vehicle.

So here are three of the most expensive cars for your customers to insure:

The Lamborghini Murcielago

The first and most expensive car to insure is the Lamborghini Murcielago which is a favourite of many car enthusiasts, however with a 6.2 litre V12 engine, 572 horse power and a top speed of 205 miles per hour we can see why car insurance providers think it’s a risky vehicle to insure!  Add to that the fact that Lamborghini only manufactured less than four-thousand Murcielagaos and the insurance premiums go through the roof.

The Ford GT

This vehicle is a little less extravagant than the Murcielagao, however it is far much more exclusive seeing as Ford only made fifty eight vehicles.  Unsurprisingly then car insurance providers found it very difficult to insure the new GT as spare parts were sparse – and extremely expensive.  Furthermore, this remake of the classic 1960s Ford GT had some serious technical faults including problems with the alarm and the engine, which is not something a car insurance provider wants to hear!

The Audi R8 V10 Coup

Whilst the Audi R8 V10 Coupé is expensive to insure due to its price tag (an eye-watering £100,000), one of the biggest concerns for car insurance providers is the vehicle’s looks and engine noise.  This car has a real ‘look-at-me’ factor, which can be great when you are being admired when driving down the street, but not so much when your vehicle is targeted by thieves!  This is something motor trade insurers should also think about, especially if you are thinking about putting one of these vehicles in your forecourt!

Stocking limited edition vehicles or luxury supercars will always attract customers to your forecourt, however make sure you call your motor trade insurance provider before you invest!  We have a feeling that it won’t just be car insurance providers that have high quotes for these spectacular cars…
